ITL SSO Unifier is a powerful Blackboard Building Block designed to provide a simple ‘Single Sign-On’ solution between Blackboard and other web systems.
Implementation of SSO Genius requires development of a script designed to receive and/or send SSO requests to the other web systems. SSO Genius does not have access to any of users’ passwords. Instead, it provides a safe connection between two systems using encrypted links and its own password.
The system operates as follows:
User logs in into BlackBoard;
He clicks on a special link to the external system, created by SSO Genius;
SSO Genius generates an authentication URL and redirects the user to user’s LoginFromBlackBoard script;
User’s LoginFromBlackBoard script proceeds to the authentication, then redirects client’s browser to a chosen or default page within the external site.
It is also possible to use SSL connection.
The following Building Block is developed for Java platform (1.5 and higher versions) and can operate under both Windows and Linux OS. ILT SSO Unifier is similar to VLE Genius SingleSignOn Building Block.
ITL SSO Unifier is supported by both Blackboard Learn 8.0 and 9.0.
